Find a cheaper place or Groupon! You only need a regular 2D gender ultrasound. Save for a 4D unltrasound once your in the beginning of your 3rd trimester.

I did a private scan at 16 weeks to find out the sex of the baby, it wasn’t super convincing and so I’ve spent the last 3.5 weeks questioning it. I have my anatomy scan tomorrow so I’ll find out if they were right but next time I wouldn’t waste my money trying to find out so early.

We just went to a place that does 3D ultrasounds on Friday, and it was so worth it! I’d also say you’re getting a great deal. We paid $140, and that was cheap compared to a lot of places in our area! We found out that we’re having a girl, and we also got some amazing pictures out of it!

If you’ve got the extra money, I’d totally recommend it.

How important is it to you that you would not be able to wait a month? Make a pros/cons list and discuss it with your partner. If you have the extra money, why not? If you're struggling to make ends meet, you may want to wait for your next scan.
