How do you file your own taxes?

How do I go about doing so? Do I need things from my employer? I’m only 17 and want to file my own taxes but I don’t know how to go about doing so or what to do. I’ve been working for 2 months now

You have to wait until after the first of the year and when your employer gives you your W2. You can just find a place online like H&R block, turbo tax, etc. And just follow instructions.

Yes, I use turbo tax. It usually costs me between $50-$100. I forget but it’s really cheap. If you have simple taxes, then it will be simple to follow the instructions they give you. It’s always smart to print your tax forms out too once you’re done and save them in a file to refer back to the following year. It’ll give you that option in the end too.

As others mentioned, you'll need to wait until you receive your W-2 which should come in the mail by the end of January.
You should be eligible for the IRS Free File program which means you can file your federal return for free. Make sure you specifically search for IRS Free File and then follow the links from there. You will actually complete the return through Turbo Tax or another preparer but need to go through the IRS website to get it done free. If you go straight to Turbo Tax's site and try to do it that way, they'll point you to a different "free" program and then try to upcharge you.

You’ll get a w2 (which contains how much you’ve made, paid for social security and other things) from your employer later in the year. Usually December though March time frame. Then you can file your taxes online with that information or use TurboTax.
