How bad was it ?

Congratulations to the women that have delivered already! However, I must know from the FTM’s, was labor worst than expected or was it bearable compared to what you expected? I’m super nervous

It was a lot better than I expected and I ended up being induced. The epidural was the true MVP though.

Contractions feel like real bad period cramps. Like REALLY BAD lol I got an epidural as soon as I could and from there everything was fine.

I didn’t have an epidural so the contractions were incredibly difficult to deal with but I did, for like 16 hours 🤷🏻‍♀️ pushing was way less painful but I did have to be coached on it because I was just so tired and out of it by that point. Delivering the placenta sucked and so did the ‘massages’ to get your uterus to shrink back down. It’s crazy how your mind clears the second you push out your baby—I felt like I was underwater and half unconscious with pain until they put him on my chest and then I was fully awake again.

I was induced with my first (currently 39+ weeks with my second and hopefully going natural this time!) and it was pretty much what I expected. Maybe a little more painful than I thought it would be, but I was just so -tired- that I hardly cared (anxiety + no sleep/no food + hard labour = exhaustion x 1000). I've heard that being induced makes the contractions more painful, but I guess I'll find out for sure within a couple weeks lol. I went with the laughing gas for pain, but didn't end up needing it until I wasn't getting a break between contractions anymore. 
I can't really remember well enough exactly what it felt like. I was so tired that its all just a blur. I went in at 10-11AM, they broke my water at 3:30-4PM (that's when the contractions started to bother me), and baby came out around 10:45PM. I don't remember exact times or how long I pushed for. All I can really say is that it was ALL worth it! :)
My mom was induced with her second and labour was only like 2 hours. Its different for everyone. Maybe you'll be lucky and it will be an easier labour! ❤

Honestly for me it was so easyi was expecting the pain I'd heard people describe and all but I just felt like pooing and I felt heaviness and pressure. I didn't know I was in labour or that I was having contractions.  I just felt very mild pain and pressure.  I had a natural vaginal birth, no meds.. 
The tearing though 😭😭 nothing prepared me for the after birth experience when i had to get stitches for 3rd degree tears i didn't even feel myself tear.

This was after stitches I had done in theatre because I tore from my uterus all the way out to my vagina lips. Lost 1.5liters of blood. Had a catheter and vaginal pack 😖.
But it was all worth it

He is 2 months old now 🤗

i Was so scared to give birth. i Remember being 7 weeks & watching Delivery videos. At 35 Weeks , Watching them again.. I was afraid. 
Then The day came. i Was excited to meet my son! i Went to the hospital Laughing , anxious , & excited. Then my water broke at 3 cm & that's when the actual pain started. i'm not even gonna say it felt like " Really bad cramps " Cause that does NOT describe them. It was horrible. I didn't get the epidural. I was screaming & crying my eyes out. You know when you wanna take a shit & someone is in the restroom & you can't hold it in? Imagine that! Feeling like you need to poop , you push & the feeling won't go away. I remember the nurse telling me to breath through them, i kept telling myself it was all mental , but hell na😂 i Thought i wasn't going to make it. Then when the pushing came ... Everytime i pushed , my contractions hurt less... But ONLY when i pushed.. Then as my baby's head was trying to come out , the doc put his fingers in me to stretch me out a bit. That was hell. When his head was coming out , i felt him tear me. Then he came out & my whole pain went away. LITERALLY. 
Also, when you push the placenta out , it hurts like a bitch too. 😂

I was terrified to give birth lol so much that i refused every stretch and sweep they offered. 😂 
Luckily i had an extremely easy birth but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would trade the first week with baby for giving birth anytime 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 
*I had the epidural, so the pain was just before i had it.

I honestly loved my delivery. It was sweet and intimate and exciting.
As far as the details - my contractions were totally manageable, like heavy period cramps, until about 6cm. Then all of a sudden they were REALLY REALLY painful, like medieval torture painful (sorry!), until I got my epidural at 7cm. Then I could immediately relax and watch Jeopardy 😆 Absolutely no pain after that.
It’s different for everyone, of course. But don’t be scared! You can do this!!

I was induced and mine was better than I expected it to be! I was able to do it without any pain meds, although when I was in transition (but didn’t realize it since it was so fast) it was painful enough that I started involuntarily shaking and my body was trying to start pushing. If that had lasted longer I would have wanted something for the pain but when they checked me and realized I was fully dilated I felt better because I knew it was almost over! Pushing wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected it to be, even though I ended up with a third degree tear.
