7 month old fell off the changing table

My son rolled off the changing table onto the tile floor right in front of my eyes. I went to throw away the diaper I was standing right in front of him as I turned sideways to throw it in the trash he rolled off right beside me I didn’t even realize what was happening. I feel so terrible but we watched him closely, I didn’t see any bruising or bumps at the time, pupils looked fine, he was back to normal after, he’s eating and sleeping normal so I thought he was ok. This was Thursday night. This afternoon (4 days later) I noticed a large bump on the side of his head. But the bump isn’t hard... it’s soft and squishy and I touched it and I think it’s painful cause he was irritated when I pressed on it. I took him to the dr and she was so nonchalant. She scheduled an X-ray for tomorrow and said it could be a small skull fracture but I didn’t need to go to the emergency room because he has been acting normal all weekend and she examined him and he was fine. I’m seriously freaking out I don’t know what to do. I should just wait for the x-ray and stop googling but I can’t help it. Has anyone experienced this with their babies having a soft bump on the head And be OK?
