Long birth story 😀

My little girl is finally here. Induction was set for 07/08/19 at 5:00am. We arrived at the hospital and immediately got started on everything. I was having contractions but didn’t feel anything. Pitocin was started at 4ml/hr and was bumped up 2ml/hr every 30 min. My water was broken at 9:00. I wasn’t showing any cervical changes and I was starting to get more and more uncomfortable. Because I wasn’t dilated enough, I opted for IV pain meds (stadol mixed with Zofran) until I was able to get my epidural and I was in Lala land. I was able to rest for about an hour and had really weird vivid dreams 😂 Around 12:00 I got an epidural because I had finally reached 4cm. It was not as painful or bad as I thought it’d be and of course I got contractions while he was inserting the needle , so I had to work extra hard to be still. After my epidural, I got to sleep and had a Foley catheter inserted at some

Point. I think the stadol was still messing me up 😂 at about 3:00 they did another cervical check and I had went from 4.5 cm to 9.5 in just an hour. I was excited but at this point I could tell my glorious epidural was wearing off. I started feeling back labor really bad and then everything else that was numb before - wasn’t. I pushed for about an hour and a half. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I was trying to bargain with the nurses and techs to do anything to get her out of me 😂 the ring of fire is very real. The pressure was very real. The pain was very real. But I got my chunky baby girl and that’s all that matters. Born at 4:29 PM , 9lb 14oz, 22.5 inches long , 14.75 in head circumference , meet Blakely Mae. The LOVE of my life.
