break up or stay together when one goes to college?

i’m an upcoming senior in high school. me and my boyfriend have been together for over a year now and he’s going to college in august. anytime i try to ask someone about what to do to make me feel better i just get the “high school relationships don’t last” speech and it makes me anxious. we have such a good relationship and he is my best friend. in a year i’m planning on going to a college close to his (not purposely) and hopefully all works out. but i’m not ignorant, i know college is change and we’re both going to come out of it different people but i can’t think of a reason not to be together through this time in our lives. comments??
