What do you think ???

Question

Do you and your significant other split money 50/50?  Is that better to do? For example , you both work and add both your checks together then split it 50/50. Or if one person is just working they go half with you.. what do you guys think ? Would it cause problems in the future ? Or is it only good for married couples to do it ? Or what if you've been with that person 1yr +

We have been together 3 years, we have a joint account. Our checks go into the joint account, our expenses come out. If we want something “extra” or to go do something, we touch base with each other and be sure we are both cool with it and aware that it’s being spent and where it’s going. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think that's a bit steep but maybe try just splitting bills main house hold cost 50/50 and then whatever you have left is free game.

Before marriage- own money own expenses, own decisions. 
After marriage - all money into main (joint) chequing account. Bills get paid, the amount we decided to put into joint (household) savings that month gets moved, the rest (except a small buffer that stays in that account) gets split down the middle and moved to our personal accounts to spend as we see fit.

We used to split all exspences 50/50 and then keep remaining funds for ourselves.
Last summer my husband was fired and chose to start a business so now I pay for everything until he is established and turning a profit.

If im not married then im not sharing my money. I know its not  very nice but im like that with my hard earned money. My husband & i have been married for 3 yrs and have separate accounts and this works for us. We have had no issues. We have a shared savings account which we used to pay off the wedding, honeymoon, & other large, agreed upon expenses. We will soon have a baby & will need to figure out how we will tackle baby expenses. Regardless of wat we come up with, im keeping all of my accounts and i dont expect him to pay for everything. At most, well get a shared checking acct & each put an agreed upon amount to pay for baby stuff. Long story short, as long as each person is in agreement with the arrangement & finds it fair, then alls fair.

My Boyfriend and I have been together for 15 years (we are 30 now) and we spilt bills 50/50 for the most part. We both pay half the morgage and have the cable bill. I cover groceries , he covers car insurances, electric . We both pay our own gas for our own vehicles,and our cell phones. sometimes he pays when we go out, somtimes. If our son needs something sometimes i buy it sometimes he buys it. We have separate bank accounts make approximately the same amount of money ( him slightly more then me) 
Bit thats just what works for us.
