Overreacting?

I'm in the army and while i was deployed to korea was sexually assaulted and harrassed by my 1SG (someone who has alot of power in the company). I was silent about it and just tried to keep my distance, even though at one point i was working almost directly under him, because he has a wife and kids my age and younger. I didn't want to ruin anyone's life. We're back in the states and i hadn't seen him in a while as he had done other shady stuff and was reported so he was no longer our 1SG. He showed up to my work place today to get his retirement packet and tried to talk to me...i lost the ability to speak, just nodded and quickly walked to my truck where i broke down in panic...i was told to just calm down and that I'm overreacting by someone who knows what happened...do you think I'm being too sensitive about it?

No, that is totally normal! Please if you feel bad or have nightmares, get therapy. Talk about it.

No. You're not overreacting! The person that said you are is wrong and they are being insensitive.
