Can your baby talk?

Question

My son says hi, no, and yes in his own way and of course mama dada and baba and then makes sounds all the time my mom said he needs to be in speech therapy? He is only 13 months and was born a month early. Do you think he needs help? Does your baby talk? What do they say? I tell him give me the toy he does when I tell him don’t touch he crawls/walks away when I ask for a kiss he gives me a kiss he can hear me and he mimics me let me know

My son says “mama”, “daddy”, and “huh”. “Huh” is the most consistent one 😂 I’ll ask him a question and it’s always “huh” 😂😂 if by his 15 month appointment he isn’t saying basic words then I’ll bring it up to his doctor. My mom is convinced he is just stubborn and refuses to talk.

My daughter says mama, dada, dog, more, and ball. She can sign eat and milk. I never really thought of it as being behind. I was under the impression that they really start talking around 18 months.

My son is almost 2 and a half and has no words yet. He has been in speech therapy for a few months now with no progress yet. He has a few other delays were working on in different therapies,  my son was born at 33 weeks. I dont think your baby is delayed at all, he responds to what you say and knows what your saying. My son does not. If you do want to get ahead of the curve talk to your doctor,  we saw an ENT and hes getting tubes put in for fluid to potentially help with his speech and continue the therapy but the evaluations and process to get everything started can take a while to set up so it wouldnt hurt to be ahead of everything and get him started if you're really worried about it, but to me he sounds like hes doing great. A doctor might want to wait until 18 months or even 2 before referring him though because kids(espically premies) can learn a little slower than others

My daughter will be 14 mo next week and has 37 words. It’s pretty amazing, she started at 9 months. But it’s true what everyone says, each kid will develop at their own pace! She’s not any where near walking yet and doesn’t stand unassisted. They’ll all get there! :)

Mama milk nighnight dada dog ball bird up nose no book tee[th] po[tty] go good and that’s I all can remember at the moment. She’s really verbal and like to repeat me and seems to focus on words. We’re raising her bilingual though and she hasn’t said anything that was clear in the minority language yet. Mayybee gato.

My son knows a lot of words, babbles constantly, says mama and dada, but that’s it right now. He waves bye bye, claps and other development cues though

My little one is 13 months she says a whole list of words. Mama, Dada, baba, booboo, night night, hair, pants, paaaa for please, shoe, sock, more, bite, milk, cup and much more she also signs all done when she is finished eating. I try to read to her daily but if not she gets 15mins of Super Why in the morning before breakfast. All babies learn different just try to repeat certain things daily until they pick up on it.

It is early yet for talking and the lack of words is totally normal.
My 13 month old can say dada and mama.  She says something that sounds like “This” which my older children think is “yes”.  She also kind of says her oldest brother’s name...but she yells it like we sometimes do...lol.
She is great with gestures.  She waves and claps her hands.  She also points when she is interested in something.  She shakes her hair on command and makes itsy bitsy spider hand motions...which is all communication.
Some kids that are a little behind in speech are stronger elsewhere...like maybe they were running at 8 months.  My daughter isn’t walking...but she is pretty good with the gestures so I know that is where her brain has been focused.

My son is 14 months and says the usual "mama" "dada" but he also says quite a few other words such as his sister's name which is "ella" he says "kitty" "hi" and "bye" he will try to mimic just about any word we ask him to say. Most of the time it's still just babbling/screaming and he likes to constantly say hi 😂
I wouldn't worry though. Every baby is different
