Tonsils and adenoids surgery?

My daughter turns 4 on the 22nd. For the past couple months she has been getting ear infection after ear infection and now her pediatrician is recommending tonsils and adenoids removal surgery, scheduled it for August 1st. I’m kind of freaking out? I’m 33 weeks pregnant due at the end of August and I’m wondering what is the recovery process for this surgery? The doctor freaked me out more than anything. Any advice or stories ?

i had mine done when i was about 16 and the recovery wasn’t bad at ALL until i ripped open my wounds and they started bleeding again. that’s part of the reason they recommend doing it younger i guess that’s less likely to happen or something. even then it didn’t hurt it was just scary

The recovery process is very easy for younger kids. They bounce back from it quickly. Her throat will hurt for a while and the medicine burns but it shouldn’t take her long to get back to normal. Make sure she is drinking enough.
