Does anyone use an instant pot?

I just got one today. I made chicken, carrots and potatoes. Everything turned out great but It wasn’t so instant lol It took about 45 minutes. 15 minutes to cook and then 30 to get the pressure out lol I’m not sure if I should keep It. I’ve been lazy with cooking so I was thinking this would help. I would love your thoughts

It does take time to pressurize and depressurize, but I still find it much quicker than a  crockpot or cooking on the stove. I can do crockpot recipes that are supposed to the 4-8 hours in less than 90 minutes, even accounting for the pressure changes.

I still love my crock pot for the laziest of meals. The instant pot is good for when you get home and have frozen meat or dry beans that you want to use for your meal. You can also sauté food before you start cooking, which is nice for meat recipes. There are FB groups that have lots of recipes and tips to help you get started.

Make the instant pot pot roast! SO YUMMY! 
And I don’t know of any other pot roasts that cook in an hour lol 
Yes your right, the instant pot isn’t truly instant. And it’s not great for things that require multiple things made in it unless you have more than one, which is kinda frustrating. Has to be a dump meal of some type unless your cooking with other methods at the same time. I’m not the biggest fan, but I keep it around for the pot roast lol 😆

Do a quick release then? It just takes a few mins. But I do find that mine takes longer than i thought too but that's just when it has to build up the pressure in the beginning

Did you manual release the pressure? Or let it slow release?

We made ribs in an hour! Before we got it ribs took hoooours.
