Can I get an IUD?

I'm currently 16, and soon I want to get birth control. I'm not sexually active but I live in Alabama and I'd rather be safe than sorry. I really want to get an IUD - I haven't decided on which one yet. My mom keeps saying she thinks they won't let me get it, so I was wondering if anyone has had any trouble with getting an IUD (like the doctor refusing to offer it to you) thank you!!

Your doctor will probably recommend one of the smaller ones (Skyla or Kyleena if you’re in the US) since you haven’t had any children yet and you will obviously need a pelvic exam but there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to get one.
