Crunchy/ granola moms?

Any other alternative mommas on here?? This will be my second baby. I've had 6 pregnancies total. (4 miscarriages, 1 full term baby, this pregnancy) with my son I had a healthy, natural at home labor and delivery with a midwife and it was great! Unmedicated, No complications, no tearing, any fears I had about it shattered and went away. I am going into this pregnancy more confident and excited and super excited to have another home birth. Any other mommas hoping to deliver at home or at a birthing center?

My first birth went very poorly and ended in emergency c/s but it definitely started with the intentions of a natural midwife led birth and I have those same intentions this time around too. I’ll be striving for the birth I wanted at the beginning! Its the norm to have a midwife during pregnancy and L&D here in the UK and a doctor only comes in if need be or to check everything is going well. Sometimes you won’t even see a doctor at all, just one or two midwives if all goes well. I really really don’t want another c/s. It was terrible and then infant and maternal sepsis afterwards. I have strong motivation to do the absolute MOST to get my natural vaginal delivery. 🙏🏻

Yes! Currently looking into midwives now. My SIL did a birthing center water birth with her son and it just seems so perfect. I was thinking homebirth, but at the same time with my first I think I’d like to be at a facility in between a hospital and home for our first and if that goes well like I hope then staying at home with our second. 
What things did you do or use to prepare yourself for a natural birth with your first?

I’m hoping to have a birthing center delivery, but I’m so early...I’ve had 2 miscarriages, so trying not to plan too far ahead. The idea of a home birth is also appealing to me! Congratulations, your son is beautiful ♥️

Yes! I am hoping to deliver at home or my midwife’s birth suite. We are hoping to move before the baby comes, so if we do then we will deliver at home. If we don’t we might use my midwife’s birth suite (our house is tiny and I’m afraid I’ll feel cramped)!

This is first baby. I am getting midwife but doing the delivery at the hospital. I work there and already feel pretty comfortable being around them all. I work in a different department but I do interact with family birthing unit on the regular. I would love to not have any pain meds, they have the jacuzzi tub, and hopefully all will go well. I read just keeping up exercising and eating well and doing those perenium massages help. I haven't seen my midwife yet, appointment is in two weeks for my 8 week intake. My mom had all three of us with no epidural or anything so I'm hoping I get as lucky as her.
