can box cake be made to taste better. like bakery shop cupcakes. i have to make cupcakes for my friends party but i don’t want to buy them i want them homemade. but i feel like they’ll be able to tell they’re from the box. how can i make them taste better

Or just make them from scratch, doesn't take that much longer. Like the others said use real butter, real eggs etc.

Use milk, not water. Use butter, not oil. If you're making vanilla, add real vanilla extract.

Yeah, just use different ingredients and don’t go by the directions of the box. Use the cake mix as a basic base and go from there. Add/take away things.
I add things like milk, butter, vanilla, chocolate, lemon, cream cheese, or any other flavor/ingredients that I can think of.

I think real secret is making homemade buttercream frosting. Do not use jarred icing 🙄.

Look up dukes mayonnaise. They have cake recipes. You can actually use mayo as a substitute for an ingredient and it makes the cake stay moist longer like a bakery cake. You can’t taste the mayo and no one would ever know it’s in there

I add a tiny bit extra vanilla essence in, and a smidgen extra oil to make them moist.
