Diaper/nappy explosions?!

My 3 week old almost everyday has a leaky diaper (poopy) in his lower back and sides. Does this mean I need a bigger size?

Normal! Do the poo explosions make anyone else laugh? I'll be changing a diaper and then wam!! Another poo explodes out lol. We go through a lot of diapers and clothes 😂

You might need to go up a size. My 3 week old is 10 lbs, we had been having problems with leaking the last few days. Went up the next size and no problems!

It may be the diaper brand. My little guy is a string bean and the pampers swaddler new born were the only ones that fit him for the first 2 weeks. He's now a little bit wider and can fit into the huggies newborn. And like others have said make sure the gussets around the legs turn out and that the back of the diaper isn't folded in and that you've got a snug fit.

My LO has them and there is no way he is ready to go up a size. Like others have said, it's just one of the joys of parenthood. But, try to make sure the diaper is on tight enough and the ruffles around the legs are facing out. These things have helped minimize the number of explosions.

My two week old has these too, we use Pampers. A lot of it is water that escapes up his back. The lactation consultant said it was normal for a breast fed baby.
