Initiating sex? (Reposting here)

My boyfriend and I live an hour apart and are both in living situations where sex is not always possible when we stay with each other. We've been together for about 7 months and he has told me that he finds it really hot when I initiate. As a side note, his last long-term relationship was one where he had VERY infrequent sex due to his partner and when he tried to initiate he was often turned down. This is my first long term relationship (I'm 28 and he's 36) and I'm still getting used to initiating and not being bashful about it. We both have fairly high sex drives but I find myself worrying that I'm being too pushy. Any advice would be welcome!
