Did anyone send a text out after birth asking to be asked if people could come to the hospital?

I really don't want people showing up at all times of the day. I might be getting a nap or something. I definitely want a heads up. How can I word it that I won't offend anyone?

Hey everyone I know you’re all excited to meet the new baby but if you could give us a heads up of when you’re coming we’d really appreciate it. I’m pretty exhausted from labor and would just like to try  and let some rest. Thanks

Just tell people that you’d like to have visitors once you’re home and settled in. Don’t give out your room number and ask the nurses to not give it out either. Then just don’t answer peoples texts if they say they’re at the hospital and want your room number. Just politely remind them that you aren’t feeling up to it and would like guests once you’re home.

you could send a text letting them know when you go into labor (or have your hubby do that) and just say something like “we can’t wait to introduce you to our new addition, we will let you know once the baby is born and we are ready for visitors!” That way they’ll know you don’t want anyone til after birth, and once you do you can text a birth announcement and just add a note like “please let us know if and when you’re stopping in, thanks!”

My hospital had us give them a list of people allowed in. They also let us know before they allowed them back for approval

Do what I did: have the baby in the evening when visiting hours are ending. 
Ok. That probably won't work. You could not tell anyone except one person trusted to keep the secret/older child's sitter you are even headed to the hospital until you are ready for visitors. Have that trusted person be your visitor coordinater.

When i was in the hospital they only let 2 visitors in at once unless they had already rang up and arranged it with me and the nurses

My nurses would not let people in if I or baby were asleep. I knew my mom was coming but they gave her a hard time. My son had finally settled in for a nap, and I could finally rest after being up all night. The one nurse told her if she woke either of us she would ask her to leave. My mom had her book and sat in a chair until we got up. Hopefully your nurses and family/friends are as considerate of you. I did tell other people not to bother until we were home. Then they could just give us a call and see if we were up for a visit at that time.

My hubby sent out the txt to our family's after baby was born with a picture of our son, with please let me know if u would like to come and visit with the hours they could come. Then posted on fb to let all our friend know and asked them to give the first day for just family. Everyone was kind about it and scheduled a time for them.
