I guess this would be a level of intimacy kind of thing. Personally, I need an emotional connection to sleep with someone - I can’t just jump into bed with anyone. If I wouldn’t kiss the person, then it would be a solid no-go for me to do anything else with them. I respect others’ decisions, though.

Nope not if you are only friends with benefits or fuck buddies. Kissing is to personal. You don't often see coupled kissing in porn movies. It's to stop attachment or emotions kicking in.
