So I'm not sexually active, which means I don't have to worry about late periods or things like that, I have a heavy flow and lots of underwear have been stained because of that. But fine, I just buy the largest pads I can find, dealing with all of that and wearing baggy clothes is not a big deal.

BUT , lately I have been suffering with cramps, I normally don't get any simtomps with my period, and I have had it since I was eleven, so besides the heavy flow I have spent a happy cramp-free life, until recently.

I don't know if it is because I didn't use to get cramps or maybe my pain threshold is really low, but I suffer so much, is horribly painful and it's a problem because I need to concentrate in class and can't be absent too much or risk failing due absences.

So I turned to Google and saw that being on birth control can help with that. But I have never been on it so I want to ask your opinions, what are your experiences on birth control? Pros and cons? Things like that.
