Are broke people classless, mannerless, and lacking etiquette?
Wondering here if broke = classless, mannerless, and zero etiquette.
I came across a blog post on positivityrightnow (specifically the post “stuff woke broke people say” and the author is basically saying the above and that, to broke people, “wokeness = hating the rich”
Do you agree?
Why or why not?
I, personally, do not agree with the stance that broke folks are any of that just for saying they are better simply because they are not A-holes. I don’t believe, necessarily, that being broke makes you a vindictive A-hole or “hate the rich”
I feel like the author devalued the points of how a broke person may feel ( it sucks to wonder where your next meal is coming from or if you can make rent) with the rhetoric spewed about how “broke people” romanticize poverty and are lackadaisical losers.
There’s a thread from Twitter that has since been deleted about how the author did “nice things” for broke people who were ungrateful or unthankful.
