Young married, or almost married, women... do you get judged often?

I went to look at a venue the other day for our wedding and I felt judged hard core. I feel like people judge more than they should though. I’ll be getting married to my 25 year old FH at 21. I thought this was a pretty “average” age to get married. Those of you who are younger, did you get judgement from others?? How do you handle it, if at all? I just walk with confidence and move on, but I wonder if it’s just me or if it’s most.

It’s just no longer the norm. Nowadays being married before 30 seems like a rarity. I think people are judgmental because they feel like being married young cuts you off from certain opportunities because you’ll have a husband and (possibly) kids to consider. I personally disagree, while it definitely adds an extra layer of things to consider, I don’t think it puts you at a disadvantage compared to others. That said, as long as you’re mature, have a good partner, and are happy that’s all that matters. 😊

Most of the judgement came after we got pregnant. The people that know us and our relationship weren’t surprised at all when we got married at 21 and 22. We were high school sweethearts and just have a different mind set than most people our age. When we got pregnant Two months after getting married and I couldn’t wear my ring because my hands were so swollen that’s when it really started. I just blow them off but it really did shock me at first.

My husband and I got engaged at 18&19 and married at 20&22. I’ll be 22 this week and I still get “you’re MARRIED?” With a weird look often. I guess it bothered me at some point, but after awhile I just started shrugging it off. They don’t know either of us or our relationship, usually strangers assume we’ve been together 6 months not 6 years and they don’t know how our day to day life goes. Anyone with something negative to say about marriage probably hasn’t experienced a good one for themselves, so I’m not even gonna consider their opinion on it, ya know?lol

I don't anymore much, sometimes I do. But when we first announced we were getting married, we got a lot of judgement and hate from mostly family.

Me and my husband got judged hard core and still do. Now we never say how old we are etc. The way we carry ourselves and the fact we have a baby and he is military people tend to think we are alot older than we are. You just have to shrug it off and tell them to go suck a dick and mind their own damn business 🤷‍♀️

Fiancé and I are both 22 (I’ll be barely 23 when we get married), although I feel like this is a little older I feel like it still kind of applies because we’ve been together since 17/18. I think everyone around us weren’t very surprised we were getting married at a young age. I don’t typically get negative comments either. Just one here or there where someone says “you’re still a baby” and I say “yeah, I am young” and I shrug and move on from the convo. Im 10 years younger than my brother and I’m getting married before him 🤣

we got married at a super fancy and expensive golf club and when we went to look at venue and to all the wedding prep appointments, I felt like people thought I was a bit young. I was 19 and my husband was 25 at the time

People were crossed between telling us we were too young and babies; and then saying it's a good age. We got married last September and still hear about it occasionally. It's not their opinion that matters though, we love one another and our happy and that's what counts.

I got married at 20. I think my uncle is a little disappointed (long story) but other than that I haven’t had a problem with feeling judged or people saying I’m too young. Sometimes other young women are a little surprised but I don’t think it’s in a judgmental way
