When giving birth having gone natural vs other options would you recommend natural?

If going “natural” is super important for you, do it.
But keep in mind, it doesn’t make you better, doesn’t make baby better. 
We have pain relief for a reason, you are popping a baby out of your vagina. At the end of the day you’ll still be a mom either way...

I went natural with my daughter. I was induced and put on pitocin, and although it hurt, it wasn’t unbearable. After like 7/8 hours of labor I got a dose of fentanyl, which gave me the break I needed from contractions, after the fentanyl wore off I was able to labor through the pains for another 2 hours and then I had my daughter. The reason I chose to go natural was because with epidurals I heard it’s harder to know how to push since you are completely numb, and I wanted to be able to be in control of my body and not be confused on how to push. I was able to get my baby out with like 5 pushes. I might be crazy, but it actually felt good to push. It felt like you’re taking the biggest 💩 of your life.

I’ve had both! First baby was an epidural, second baby was no pain relief. If we have more children I will be aiming for another unmedicated birth. Choosing to opt out of pain medicine has nothing to do with being better, it has to do with how your body manages pain, how you want your labor experience to go, and being aware that every pain medicine has side affects, just as going unmedicated does. I 100% preferred my unmedicated birth in every single way.

I went natural with my son and will be doing it again with my daughter who is due in October. I was induced with pitocin too, which apparently makes contractions stronger than going into labor naturally. I have nothing to compare them to, so I just know pitocin induced contractions 🤷‍♀️ If you want to do natural you can! If you don’t want to, don’t. Either way is good and should be what you want.

I’m 5 weeks pp from my ‘natural’ vaginal birth. I did have an IV of pain meds at one point about 14-16 hours in because they needed my contractions to slow down, as babes heart rate was dropping from stress. I also used nitrous oxide for a hot minute. 
It was 100% the worst pain of my life but I don’t regret not getting the epidural. I recommend keeping an open mind. There’s nothing wrong with opting for pain relief but you may surprise yourself with what you can endure in the moment.

I had an uncomplicated, unmedicated vaginal birth with my first. She’s 14 months old and I’m due aug 30th. I’m planning on doing the same but birth plans can change. Everyone has different pain tolerances. As long as baby and mama are safe is all that matters💕

I was induced at 38 weeks due to gestational hypertension. I went in saying no way would I have an epidural. After they took the cervidil out and check for dilation my water broke at 1 1/2 cm and contractions happened FAST. I was basically begging them to give me the epidural but we had to wait until I progressed to a 3. Took what seemed like forever, then finally got the epidural. I don’t regret getting it. Worst pain on my life. I was in labor for 24 hrs, by the time I had to push the epidural had wore off and I felt ever bit of what was going on, stitches and all. I’m now pregnant with my second I am going to TRY to go natural this time, I am preparing by doing prenatal yoga and birthing classes but I won’t be upset if I need to get an epidural.

I’ve had an epidural all 3 births. No way in hell would I willingly go natural especially now that there’s so many options for pain relief during labor. One of my good friends went natural for her first baby per her choice and 100% regrets it, worst pain of her life, made the entire experience miserable.
