Mini cry it out?

I’m not a believer in cry it out at this age. But today I put my daughter in her bouncer while I did some morning routine things (take out pups, make coffee, quick breakfast). She was very content but then started to cry while I was in the middle of making breakfast. I talked to her from across the room while I hurried to finish because I just needed like 3 more minutes. Then she suddenly stopped! She was totally fine and I paused in amazement 😂 Does anyone let their littles cry for a minute or two before attending to them? Is this just a fluke? I normally run to her right away and hold her because honestly she just alwaysssss wants to be held.

I don't believe in cry it out at this age either. I believe it's our job to soothe them when they're this new, but sometimes you gotta just finish what you're doing. My first I was just finishing making dinner, it had to cook for 1.5 hours so I had to get it in the oven. I let her cry for maybe 3 minutes, and when I picked her up she fell asleep and had a long nap. I felt bad, but you have to be realistic. Leaving your newborn to cry for 2 minutes because you need to take a dump isn't going to hurt them. 😊

If it’s just me at home and I’m trying to eat, yup!! I can’t be an effective caregiver (or milkgiver) if I don’t take care of my basic needs. I’m learning to eat really fast. 😂

Same! I try not to do it often but sometimes shit needs to get done. Last night my husband and I were enjoying eating TOGETHER for the first time since her birth so we let her cry for a few to enjoy each other. I think she forgives us. 😂👍🏻

I will let him cry for a few minutes while I’m doing something that needs to be done or tending to my toddler. I look at it as, when he’s in his car seat and I’m driving and there’s nothing I can do, he is OK, so for a few minutes at home, he’s fine.

To be honest it teaches them self soothing. I give it the four or five minutes and if it’s still going on then I will pick her up.

Babies do not benefit from CIO this early. They are not capable of learning to self soothe at this age. Sometimes they might have a little gas, discomfort, startle, etc., and they might cry for a moment and then stop, this is not self soothing at this age, it just means the irritant has stopped. (Also..,all of that isn’t meant for you, it’s for anyone saying it’s good to let them learn to self soothe this early.)
What you’re describing is perfectly normal. We have to take care of ourselves in order to take care of our babes. If that means a few minutes of crying (within reason), then that’s what should be done.

Yes I have too lol .. I have to also tend to her toddler brother 😂 but like it's never nothing longer than few mins..now i couldn't let her cry herself to sleep..

That’s not cry it out, it’s just observing your baby for a beat before reacting. Sometimes they yell because they have to fart, or because they swallow weird, or because the sky is blue 😂 a good policy it to give your LO 30 seconds or so before doing anything.

Before 6 months of age, babies dont have the cognitive ability to remember patterns. They cant possible know, "if I cry they run to me" or "crying doesn't get me attention right away" and they can not possibly learn self soothing before 6 months either. 
When babies cry, their bodies release a hormone called cortisol. The stress hormone. When this happens in babies that young, it causes a disruption in their brain development. They are too young to handle that. 
You should do some looking into it. It's always good to learn for yourself what hundreds of professionals have learned over years of research
