Oatmeal cereal??

Question

I don’t want to do rice cereal but I’m thinking of letting him try the oatmeal cereal tonight. I’m gonna feed it to him mixed with breastmilk. Is this okay? FTM here so not sure if it’s too soon. He’s 4 months Wednesday and is very interested in food.

I’ve given my 4 month old organic oat cereal, only like half a tablespoon for now once a day (doc said go for it if she can sit up when only supported, she is basically sitting with no support needed) and I dilute to almost completely liquid with breast milk. She’s doing great with it. But I’d run it by your doc just in case as everyone has different opinions!

Yup! My daughter loves the oatmeal cereal mixed with either breast milk or formula. She loves veggies but is so-so on fruit so far.

My dr always tells me to wait until 6 mo. They say breastmilk has everything the need until then. Also in my experience all the cereals stops them up. But you do what you feel is best you are the mommy 😁

We tried a small amount of rice cereal in our first sons bedtime milk early on and in my mind I think it helped him sleep better but it could’ve been the timing. 
Just be careful to not put too much. Or call the pediatrician in the morning and ask
