I need some advice on what y’all would do!

So, I work at an animal shelter! It’s just me & my supervisor. We are also animal control officers for our city.

We take care of all of our animals & pick up strays, dead animals, write people tickets for letting their dogs run loose, abandonment, abuse, etc.. stuff like that.

The woman I work with is great... when she wants to be!

If she’s in a bad mood, or has something going on at home (with her son or boyfriend) she’s a BITCH!

Please note she is in her 60s. Her son is probably in his late 30s, early 40s & her boyfriend is in his 60s or early 70s.

But she will come to work & nitpick at everything I do. She will be rude, she will walk past me & not even look at me. She will leave & stay gone & not day anything to me unless she calls or texts & says “you need to do this” “you need to do that”

Bossing me around. She has no respect. She thinks bc she is a supervisor, she can treat me however she pleases. We both obviously have the same BOSS, who is MY BOSS* who is an amazing, sweet lady!! Who my supervisor has talked shit about when in a bad mood.

Everyone before me has QUIT & EVERYONE told me how big of a bitch she is, but I was like “whatever I’ve worked for assholes, it won’t be nothing” boy was I wrong! I have to bite my tongue A LOT! I’ve cried before bc of her, it’s bad.

But when she’s in a good mood, she is great, happy, has respect, is nice, jokes around, never leaves without telling me where she’s going & we go on all calls together.

I’ve told her before she needs to talk to me & treat me with respect. I’ll post some conversations between us.

But first THIS convention from yesterday! She calls me, & says she can’t find one of our shelter cats (they roam around freely, can go outside/inside throughout the day, but before I leave for the night, I make sure they are all inside)

Anyways, she calls & can’t find one of our cats, Thomas! I told her to check the cabinet (he will open the bottom cabinets & crawl in & then open the door to get out) or check our storage room (where we keep the cat & dog food, bleach, collars, etc.) bc I got bleach right before I left & he could have snuck in without me seeing.

She says okay, she’ll call me back!

She calls back 2 minutes later YELLING at me saying he was in the storage room, I need to count the cats before I leave.

I told her “I do & did count the cats before I left. Everyone was inside, but I forgot we needed bleach in the kitchen so I grabbed two bleach before leaving, I didn’t see him come in the room”

She starts yelling, YOU CANT TELL ME YOU DIDNT SEE HIM! YOU DIDNT COUNT THE CATS BEFORE YOU LEFT.

I said “yes I did, I always do! He’s sneaky, I did not see him come in the room. I’m sorry”

She continued to yell & basically call me a liar!

I said “Paula you aren’t listening to me”

She said NO YOURE NOT LISTENING TO ME! YOU COUNT THE CATS BEFORE YOU LEAVE!

I said “Paula, I did! I do everyday.”

She said “NO SHUT UP”

I said “You’re not going to tell me to shut up, you talk to me with respect. Goodbye” & I hung up.

I waited a few minutes & tried to call her back & she forwarded my calls so I text her!

& her reply was....

She is RUDE! & then today... she text me & I text her back, I wasn’t by my phone when she text, but I literally text her FOUR minutes after she text me!

She called the POLICE DEPT saying she couldn’t get a hold of me after I text her back & they called me.

(Backstory to the laundry texts. I just moved into a new house & didn’t have a washer or dryer yet! My friend was giving me hers bc she was moving in with an ex but I was going to have to do my laundry at the laundry mat (where druggies are) until I got them. She told me I could just do them at the shelter! I never asked her if I could do them there, it wasn’t an option to me. She told me she let Kelsey (girl that works on the weekends) do her laundry there when her washer messed up. I said oh okay, thank you! That’ll be better than going to the laundry mat. She agreed. I did 3 loads of laundry at the shelter TOTAL! Not 3 at once. I would come on the weekend & do one. I brought a load with me to work after lunch THIS particular day (my THIRD time doing laundry up there) it was the day before getting my friends washer & dryer, I just needed to wash my work clothes so I’d have something to wear the next day. & she text me being completely different & against her word)

(Backstory: she called me at 6am on a Saturday wanting me to come to work bc Kelsey called in. We get to work at 7, but I told her she would have to give me a little bit & I’d be there a little before 8. She said “NEVERMIND me & Don (her boyfriend) will do it” I went to ask if she wanted me to come to the afternoon & she hung up. I called back & she made him answer the phone. He said she was upset, I asked him to ask her if she wanted me to do the afternoon & she said no. I text her afterwards)

Any advice? Am I wrong? I get so tired of her being rude, & not talking to me. I just can’t tolerate getting yelled at or told to “SHUT UP” bc she’s my “supervisor” & she thinks she can treat me however. I just try being nice but being stern & explaining myself & standing my ground. I will not kiss ass!
