Car seat, travel system???! First time mom confusion.

I’m starting the registration process and I’m so confused about all the car seat stuff. I like the idea of the convertible car seats so we can keep it for a long time, but then there’s those infant car seats that can be carried and put into a stroller. So what’s the best thing to do? She’s only going to be an infant for a short amount of time so I hate to put an infant car seat on the registration for only a little bit of use. Or should I leave it? Any recommendations? As much of a bummer it is to have to buy multiple, it DOES make it easier when they are small. But if you don’t mind taking baby out of the seat each time you exit the car, then go for the convertible seat! It’s really about preference.

I would definitely do both. Yeah you might only use it for a couple months or possibly even a year, but the use you actually get out of it is a lot. And it's just SO much easier.

I got the britax b35 and b agile travel system and also a convertible seat for our 2nd car...I liked the idea of having a true infant car seat that hooked up to the stroller

I used the infant car seat for 18 months with my little ones (till they were too big) it was definitely worth it to be able to remove the seat when needed.

I would definitely recommend a travel system it makes life so much easier to be able to take the car seat out and attach it to the wheels instead of taking baby in and out, plus they use it for a fairly long time
Also in the early stages your baby will sleep a lot so it's not ideal to wake them to get them in and out of the car seat, instead with a travel system you can transfer from the car to walking about whilst baby still sleeps

I bought the chicco fit2 that can be used until my baby is 2 so it's able to be used longer. It goes from an infant seat to a convertible seat.

It all comes down to your lifestyle. I ended up with both, and honestly used my infant carrier a handful of times, and with the stroller once (summer time in South Texas means not many strolls for mommy and baby). If my son woke up when I took him out of the convertible car seat, he’d fall back asleep easily. I essentially had the convertible car seat in our primary car, and the infant car seat in my husband’s car or if he stayed with my mom. Instead of lugging the stroller out of the car, I would just wear my son when shopping.

So then another question, what do I put on the registry if we have 2 cars? Or do you just move from one car to another? (As you can tell, I am clueless about baby gear. I’ve never been around any of this stuff. 😕)

I got a travel system and it was the best decision ever. The infant carrier made things so much easier when going out especially with a newborn. My daughter used the infant carrier for 10 months before we upgraded to a convertible. We have the graco snug ride 35 click connect system.
