36w 6d cervix closed

I’m 36w6d today scheduled to be induced 7/31 (due 8/6) and at my last on checkup on Friday they checked my cervix and it’s closed. They said if it’s still closed by my induction I have a 30 percent chance of having to have a c section. Is it normal to still have a closed cervix at almost 37 weeks? I really don’t want to have to be induced. I heard it’s not safe and the whole birth process already scares the crap out of me :( anything I can do to help me go into labor naturally??
