Blankets??

Question

How many blankets and stuff do you need for a baby?? We havent got any yet, and I know we will need some for in her pram and capsule to keep warm but do they use them in bed? I dont even know what I'm doing

Nothing should go in a babies bed. Just the fitted sheet and dress them according to room temp. No blankets or anything.

Lol same. I have about 4 or 5. Then I have 5 receiving blankets. They’re gonna throw up and poop on them I imagine so can’t go wrong with more.

You might want to take a newborn basics or caring for a newborn class just to be prepared. I have a few velcro swaddles, a few swaddle me pods, a couple muslin blankets for swaddling, and then about 5 blankets just for her to lay on on the couch. No loose blankets in the bassinet or crib, only swaddles until they can roll over.

No blankets, pillows, toys, crib bumpers or anything else is allowed in the crib- only a well-fitted mattress and single fitted sheet- so the only blankets you need to worry about are the kind you use in your stroller or when you’re holding your baby. 
We used Love to Dream zipper swaddles for sleeping because they’re impossible to escape out of, therefore they’re safer because you never have to worry about a swaddle blanket that might come loose in the middle of the night and wake your baby up or cover their face to prevent proper breathing, or even wrap around their neck. That being said, I bought a ton of blankets ahead of time because everyone said we needed them. I ended up only using 3-4 soft lightweight bamboo muslin blankets, 2 homemade crocheted blankets, and 3 thicker stroller blankets. Some women like to use flannel receiving blankets as burp cloths, but I preferred using cheap cloth diapers as burp cloths because they were the perfect size, cheap, and easy to throw in the wash. We never used receiving blankets. My son was a fall/winter baby.

Do you mean swaddles? We borrowed a ton from a friend of our and our daughter hated being swaddled lol
