How do you feel about the refugee crisis?

There's thousands of people fleeing their homes in the Middle East at the moment because of extremists taking over. They're normal families just desperate for a safe home. Some Islamic State militants claim to have hidden themselves in amongst the genuine refugees too. And there are also several economic migrants who are just trying to find a better life but aren't actually fleeing any danger. How much should we and governments help? And what should we do?

Allied drone strikes shoulder a lot of responsibility for the devastation over there. I feel like we are morally obligated to help these people. This is not only a humanitarian crisis, it is just the right thing to do. They don't want your precious tax dollars or our jobs. They want them and their children to not worry about being shot at when they walk outside.

We help, that's the only thing we need to do.

Every human should be safe and not have to worry about being killed every day. As a human being, I believe that if we can take in refugees than it is our duty to do so.

I am heartbroken by this news. Seeing children cry, sleep on the ground, no clothes, food or shelter. These people are so desperate for survival that they're risking their entire family by crossing the ocean and not knowing where they're going and how they will be treated. So sad to see what some people are going through. It makes me appreciate everything about the life that I have that I have taken for granted. I hope these people find peace.

All countries are taking them in. Why shouldn't they?

I think we have a humanitarian responsibility to help, and take at least a set number of refugees. Is it possible some bad people will be mixed in? I suppose, but they can also get here on student, work, or marriage visas. I don't know we we can ignore the plight of those that most need our help.

Honestly I reckon we should let a good percentage of them into our country but it should come at a price. We should get them back on their feet then when they have enough money the move to another country, so basically what I'm saying is Australia can be like a training ground for them.
