29 weeks hasnt been a good one
I'm coming to the end of week 29. Thursday will be 30 weeks. It's been a stressful week. Thursday night went to L&D for high blood pressure, fast heart rate and feeling dizzy. Was kept overnight for monitoring since my BP levels would fluctuate like crazy. They found protien in my initial urine test. Was instructed to take a 24 hour urine test. I was given meds for the blood pressure on Friday morning and when it seemed effective I was released with a script for the meds and instructions to finish up the 24 hour urine and bring it back in Friday night. Got a call Saturday morning saying urine test came back with elevated levels and they want to give me a set of steroid shots 24 hours apart to help develop babies lungs just as a precaution.
Monday: follow up appointment with my new OB. (Was forced to switch OB due to the old one just deciding to no longer treat/see pregnant patients after Aug 9th)
Anywho...was given the diagnosis for preeclampsia on Monday and had to go take my 1 hour glucose test since my old doc never scheduled me one up to this point. Got a call a few hours later I failed the 1 hour test. Levels were 220mg. I have a scheduled retake of the longer 3 hour test tomorrow as well as an ultrasound to check on baby.
I will have to have weekly nonstress tests up til a certain point then they go to biweekly appointments.
This pregnancy has been so crazy and way different than my first. Just keeping hope we can keep baby girl cooking until 37 weeks the doc said I would probably be induced between 35 and 37 weeks depending on how my body responds to trying to manage the preeclampsia symptoms. Just hoping I dont have to add gestational diabetes to the list
