I’ve actually heard that some women will regain the elasticity in their vagina after waiting long periods without sex. Naturally your vagina does this because of child birth and things shift back to normal after a certain amount of time after having a kid. So I’ve heard the vagina can do the same with no penetration for long periods of time. So in other words it’s almost like popping your cherry once more. Not sure how accurate my knowledge is but I hope it  clears any odd thoughts or assumptions.

This happened to me last night. I hadn't had sex in almost 7 months & I was bleeding heavily when I went to go pee after we finished. I'm still bleeding this morning but my period is due to start Wednesday so I'm pretty sure it just started 3 days early. It was 4 days early last month.
