As a mom, is there a difference in relationship or bond between a son and daughter?

My grandmother was always more bonded to my uncles than my mother. I think because she’s very critical of herself so she became critical of my mother too. I think because of this, my mom had a more difficult time bonding with me than my brother. I have a son and he is my whole entire heart and it’s such an easy bond. I genuinely don’t think it will be any different with my daughter (coming in October)..... but that mother/daughter relationship has never been great in my family and I’m so scared that it will inevitably be that way. Anyone else with this fear?
