Sleeping at night but not being swaddled?

Question

Any mommas in here have babies who sleep well at night and not being swaddled? We swaddle our 4 week old every night but she wakes up crying like she hates it but everything says they need to be swaddled to sleep at night so I didn’t know if anyone is having luck not with sleeping without the swaddle?

I’ve never swaddled any of mine my baby girl is 4 weeks tomorrow she sleeps in a baby growbag. She feeds about 11 then wakes about 3/4 has a feed and goes straight back down till about 7/7.30 - last night she slept from 12-5am! 👍🏻

We swaddled my now 3 week old for the first week and a bit. We had to swaddle arms out from the start because he hated arms in. We stopped swaddling about a week ago, his sleep pattern has not changed he still sleeps 3 hour stretches and is just as content without the swaddle.

I stopped swaddling after we left hospital. He hated it and he even sleeps on his side. He doesn’t like sleeping on his back

We never swaddled our little one.
At first he used to wake up every 2 hours for feeding now he is 6 weeks old and his longer stretch is 4.5-5 hours but not all nights are the same.
You need to go by what works for your baby. Not all practices apply to all little ones.

My son loves his arms up by his face (since in the womb) so he would rarely stay in a swaddle, which made me worry about loose blankets in his bed. But, He also would be SO fussy and wouldn’t sleep in the bassinet either - so I recently got the Love to Dream sleeper and it was a game changer for us! He slept 5 hours straight last night! He’s snug and doesn’t startle, but he can move his little arms to his face if he needs to!

We swaddled our daughter for the first few nights and then it got too warm. Now she sleeps in just a vest or baby grow. If it does get a bit chilly we swaddle her (arms out). Either way she sleeps most of the night, she wakes up every 3 hours for a feed and a change and then settles right back down.

We don’t swaddle. Our pediatrician advised against it because eventually they will start rolling and they shouldn’t get used to exclusive swaddling. She goes down in a pajama sleeper and sleeps well. I have heard good things about the sleeveless sleep sacks.

My son likes it both ways. I start out with him swaddled every night. Some nights he passes out instantly, others he is whiny. Every night is different. Last night he slept fine swaddled the first half of the night but after his feeding he needed his arms out.
