What do you think About those costumes compared to my bunker gear?? This is why I got boys firefighter costumes for myself instead of the girls....I never wanted to walk up into a fire station and not be taken seriously. It's a holiday but this was my dream and even as a kid I knew wearing dresses to a fire was beyond unrealistic and didn't make feel like I was embracing my dream

I think sexualizing toddlers' costumes and making gender classifications for the occupational costumes is just awful. Truly terrible. Those of you that deny that feminism is still needed in the present need to read her letter.

The costumes pictured didn't come off to bad to me but honestly

When I was that age I wanted to be a firefighter...I became a volunteer firefighter s couple years ago and would like to work towards paid part time...

When I wanted to be a firefighter for Halloween I hated the dresses, skirts ect because it's something I took seriously because I wanted to be taken seriously as a firefighter one day which is hard for woman to do...

It was hard finding a costume I liked because of it, I'd buy the boy firefighter costumes and they always fit funny...but I'd rather they fit a little funny than be prancing around in a dress

My daughter wouldn't be allowed to wear it. I think the skimpy cop outfits are trashy. Do female officers walk around in tight spandex dresses and knee high boots? Hell no. If my daughter wants to dress like a cop on say she can wear the black pants and black button up & belt lol

I get what she is saying, but I know as a kid I would have preferred a cute dress (which isn't really sexualized imo). Than a boring pant and top costume.

Had the dress been a two piece that showed some skin I would have felt different, but these costumes are pretty cute.

I don't see any of these kid costumes as a bad thing. I havnt ever seen a kid costume look innapropriate.
