Heard that twins pregnancy doesn't stay up to 40weeks. Please how true is it and when is the likely due date?

My dr wouldn't let me go past 38. I was induced at 38+0 and they were born on 38+1.

I delievered at 39+1 and I believe that baby B could have stayed cooking another week or two! She was taken by c section after a vaginal delivery of baby A. I don't think it was right for them to take her especially since my cervix starting closing after baby A. They forced me to undergo a c section and this led to other complications. As it's not common to deliver twins separately but I really believe based on her tiny size and maturity she was taken too soon!

My mother in law went 40 weeks with twins in 1988. And every time she tells me that it shocks me. Before her I had never heard of twins going full term. She had a c section and the babies were both over 6 pounds. Both are happy and healthy now at 27 (my husband being one of the twins).
