How much is your LO eating?
Our pediatrician said my babe should be eating 28-32 ounces a day. We’ve been having issues with him not wanting to nurse and not gaining the “normal” amount of weight so I went to pumping and bottle feeding to judge how much he was getting and he’s only eating 20 ounces a day....24 ounces on a good day. My pediatrician said that’s not enough and that I need to get him to eat more but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to MAKE him eat if he’s not wanting it. I offer the bottle every 2-3 hours. He’s just started sleeping 9-10 hour stretches at night and she suggested waking him up 1-2 times a night to feed him. This seems strange to me. He’s gaining weight, on the lower end of normal but has been like this for for 2 months. Last week he gained 5 ounces in 7 days. He has a wet diaper 6-8 times a day and is pooping once every 3-4 days. I was thinking maybe he’s just on the lower end of what he needs for food, but now I’m starting to wonder if there is something else going on.
