Implantation cramps

I’ve never had cramps before in till Tuesday. Had the cramp on my left side only way to explain was similar to period pain. Is this a sign of early pregnancy? My period is due at wind point next week. I really don’t know if it was implantation cramps as I never had it before and don’t know wat to expect
