Does anyone know if there are alternatives to the progesterone suppositories? Just did a natural cycle and since my luteal phase is on the short side got prescribed progesterone to take for 14 or so days and if pregnant would continue.

After four days of taking I developed itching and welts/hives from scratching. I’ve taken 6 days worth - 200mg every night. The doctor told me to skip tonight, take Benadryl if needed and to let them know tomorrow if I’m better, worse, or the same.

Assuming it’s an allergic reaction, are there alternatives? Is oral Provera an alternative? Or even the shots? I find it hard to believe I’m allergic to progesterone since the body naturally produces it. Perhaps an inactive ingredient in the suppository?
