Is 14 years older too much?

I am 26 and he’s 40. He makes me happy. Treats me like no one has. He actually cares about my health more then anyone ever has and he is a surgeon. He’s always reminding me to eat and he talks about the future with me. But I had a few friends say “he’s too old” and he looks like he’s 35 at most girls. No wrinkles. He has a healthy body. He eats healthy, he’s that guy I guess. But what I like about him is he completes me as a person. 
I’ve had friends say “you guys won’t last” even though we have so much in common and we’re so alike. 
Please share your experiences dating older men?

The only thing I will say is you have to be a whole person on your own. Looking for someone to “complete” yourself isn’t healthy. Age differences don’t bother me, but I hope his motivations are true and that your desires in life align with each other’s. ♥️♥️

Let me start by saying that every relationship is different. I dated a 37 yr old man when I was 25 and it was amazing to start and he promised me so much but then everything turned out to be fake and I felt used because of my youth and lack of experience. He was a narcissistic, pathological liar, and a serial cheater. Not saying your guy is like that at all but I would advise to take it slow before you get serious and if he is rushing things, there might be a not-so-good reason.

I think if it works for you, then do it. But dont be in denial of the pros and cons. Like my MIL married a man 20 years older, no bigger right. Well shes the bread winner and managed everything, as he got older she stated taking care of him to, but now at 65 and she’s very ill, her 85 year old husband cant help her at all. I know love it worth it all. I do believe this. But every relationship has ups and downs, some more then others.

My ex and I were 15 years apart, we managed for 4 years before he became a raging alcoholic lmao! But we were great together before than, and even on his sober days things were still .. okay... 
So nope, I feel like it could work. 
Age to me is just a number. As long as your both legal age.
