So I have been TTC and a friend of mine I shared our two names with. Through some miscarriages she was pregnant and just had her first. She used our girl name. I am feeling really annoyed. Is this wrong to feel this way?

You have a right to be upset. But no one owns a name. Not like you can't still use it

I would be upset but I probably wouldn't say anything. I've had 5 miscarriages and both my sibling and my in-laws have since had kids. When I had been pregnant they would ask me if I had names picked out and we did. So I shared the names. Thankfully no one has used them and let us know that they wouldn't. I would be heartbroken if one of the two names we had chosen were used by someone so close to us. I totally understand when people say no one owns a name but when it becomes kind of a hope for the future in your mind and it's always the name in your head when you think about your future child it could be devastating. If I were you I would still use the name. If they get mad that was their choice in using the name you told them that you had decided on. If they don't get mad may be it could be fun for your child to have a best friend with the same name

My sil was pregnant with her daughter 2 years ago and she was struggling finding a name. My mil asked me if I had any and I said I did but I’m not sharing because they are mine😂 lol she was so offended but my sil tried telling her mom no because she’s not stealing my names. Lol don’t care if she was mad🤷🏼‍♀️

I would be annoyed too. People here will say you don’t own a name, but I think if you tell someone that’s a name you’re going to use, it’s rude to use it and not even say anything to them beforehand. I’d be hurt.
