The Perfect Birth Control?

anonymous

Hi, I am looking for a low maintenance birth control that won’t give me many negative side effects.

I was on the pill before and hated it. It’s been 9 months since Ive been on any type of birth control.

I’ve heard about the Skyla IUD (it’s the one that has the least amount of hormones distributed throughout the years). I think I want to go to Planned Parenthood after this month’s period. I know there can be some discomfort during the insertion and 30 minutes after. Google says there can be pain for up to two more weeks and says the patient should plan to rest until pain has subsided. Is this true? Will I not be able to workout or participate in gym class??

Like I said, I absolutely hated the pill. I don’t want to gain weight (even though water retention happens for the first few months) but I can deal with an extra few pounds for a few months as long as I don’t feel nauseous, fatigued, dizzy, and experience migraines 3-5 times a day.

I know everyone is different but what is your experience with an IUD (preferably Skyla)??
