How many times do you feed solids?

How many times a day do you feed your baby solids? My son is 5 months old(doctor okayed it, he has all the signs of readiness) and I feed him solids at least once a day. Should I feed him more than once a day for solids?

I did it twice when I started. Same food though, for at least 3 days. Then I skipped 1-2 days and tried a new food.

When he was 6 months old, I did just dinner. Now that’s he’s 9 months old, I’ll do breakfast and dinner. It just depends on our day too. Sometimes he’ll get 3 meals and other days just 2.  ( in between his bottles)

At 5 months, they don’t need solid ‘feeds’, they should just be starting to get tastes of different things. It shouldn’t be replacing any milk feeds at that point

You can. Breast milk or formula is the primary source of nutrition this age so as long as the solids are not interfering with that intake twice a day is fine.

My 6 month old has 3 meals a day with every bottle except for his night and time bottle

You don’t need to do more than that at that age. If you added one meal every two months that would be fine. But go at baby’s pace.

I started it as occasional then then every other day then once a day then twice a day ect. It’s all a preference for you and baby but that’s what I’ve always done
