Okay so my son (nearly 2 months old) has a rash around his neck almost like raw skin because he’s on the chubby side and he had heat rash from it being so humid and hot. Anyways I gently cleaned his neck with a damp cloth and put some cornstarch around it because I hear it’s unsafe for such a small baby to be using powder especially near the face/neck area.But now I’m hearing that it was wrong to put cornstarch there and I should have put vasaline/A&D ointment instead of baby powder?? Was I wrong for using cornstarch

The person that told me I shouldn’t have used cornstarch said that I was going to make his rash worse by putting it there

I just need to know if I am right or wrong and if it will hurt my baby and if I should use something else there instead? I didn’t think the cornstarch was a big deal 🤷🏻‍♀️
