“Period” every other week since stopping BC

I’ve been on bc (pill) for 10+ years. In the last few years I would get off it at certain points (surgery, balance hormones, etc) and my body would react normally; normal period, all stages of different cervical mucous, etc. I stopped taking my BC in June, this time my husband and I are ttc. I had light withdraw bleeding and then a week later had a heavy, painful period, cue the excitement to start tracking ovulation- what a bummer when my period came again, heavy again- and now about to have my 4 period in about 6 weeks (including withdraw bleeding). Normally I read about people not getting their period after stopping BC, but I can’t shake mine. Everyone says it is normal for your body to take time to regulate, but my concern is that when I have stopped BC before I never dealt with this. My obgyn said to give it three months but I hate this, I feel like my body isn’t my body right now. Anyone else experience this and conceive? Just looking for some help!
