Picking out Lingerie for the first time

My boyfriend's birthday is in August and we planned a little getaway. We've been together for a year and a half, and this is the first birthday I'm able to share with him. I have plans of taking him out during the day for a few things, and then later that night surprising him with a few other things😏. The only thing is, I'm a newbie with lingerie. Sure, I have nice bras, but I wanted to do something like stockings or maybe even a garter. I just don't really know what to get and figured this was the best place to ask other women. What do you guys recommend?
