Losing weight?

I went to the Dr last week and got scolded about my weight. She said I gained too much (35 lbs at 30 weeks) and I needed to slow down or I’d have to have a c section. I guess I had gained 6lbs in 2 weeks before that appointment. I was pretty upset because I didn’t think I’d been overeating. She told me I needed to cut out around 1,000 calories PER DAY, and that I shouldn’t lose weight, but should maintain.

Anyway, I figured I’d been eating 2,500-3,000 calories a day before, so I cut back and aim for 1,700. I also try to exercise for 30-60 minutes per day.

I weighed myself today (4 days after my last appointment) and I’ve lost 6 lbs! Now I’m afraid baby isn’t getting enough. I feel like I’m not doing anything right. I eat normally and I gain too much, I cut back and I lose it. I can’t seem to find the right balance.

I don’t know what to do. Should I call my doctor? Is it safe to be losing weight? I’m 31 weeks tomorrow.
