Our first ivf cycle produced 11 eggs, 8 embryos, 2 of which were normal. Idid my first FET this past week and I'm trying to weigh out options if it is unsuccessful. With only one normal embryos left, would you go through egg retrieval or transfer#2?

Personally transfer #2 as egg retrieval is expensive and why spend the cost to do it again unnecessarily. That being said, if you want to have more than 1 baby then I would opt to do egg retrieval first because every month from the time we are born our eggs become less quality and quantity so I would get more eggs first. If you are wanting to freeze for the future then I would retrieve more now.   If you get pregnant with this one and breastfeed you are looking at 2-3 years before you can try again and egg quality decreases.   
If you only want one pregnancy then I say transfer this one.

It really depends on your age and circumstances. I'd ask your doctor, but don't spent too much time stressing over this decision because hopefully you won't even have to worry about it. Fingers crossed for you!

At 34 and turning 35 in October as well, we decided we wanted the chance to have at least 2, if not more through IVF.  Due to pricing and the unknown, we prepaid for a multicycle program and instead of using it to get multiple transfers, we did 2 straight retrievals in a row. (We still have the opportunity for up to 2 transfers)  One completed in June with 2 normal and 1 low mosaic embabies and my next one in August with hopeful transfer in October.  
With egg quality declining rapidly starting at 35 and discount for multicycle, we decided that was right for us.

I’d retrieve now so you have embryos on ice for the future. My RE said it will get harder to have good quality embryos as I crept into my late 30’s. Good luck.
