When is it safe to tell?

Question

First time mom. I'll be about 5 weeks tomorrow. First appointment on 10/12. I'm so anxious and don't want to tell anyone until I know for sure everything is okay. But I'm also terrible at keeping secrets. How far along is safe to let close family know?

I told my mom, bestie and sister the day I found out. My hubby told his mom and bestie that day too. We figured anyone I would tell and need support from if I did miscarry should know asap. We figure we wanted to celebrate the babies life know matter how short with our close friends and family. I will Facebook announce it next friday at my 15week check up.

After the first ultrasound at 8 weeks where we saw the heartbeat we told our parents. We waited until after our 12 week appointment to start telling other people and work. We did the fb announcement at 14 weeks.

When you are ready? Some say wait for 3 months some say right away... its up to you... its your baby and its your body... and congrats :) happy 9 months :)

We told our parents immediately, then family and close friends around 6 weeks. I knew if something were to happen I would to turn to family for support. I had to tell work pretty early as well because of morning sickness and they have been so supportive, it was a great choice!

I told my mom and best friend as soon as I found out. My husband wasn't home, and I was freaking out looking at my faint positive. I didn't believe it was real, and made them look too.

We told my husbands parents shortly after, and he told some close friends around 5 weeks. We are waiting for our first u/s next week to share with everyone else.
