I walk through Walmart talking to my 4 month old as if he is going to respond to me. 
And I get dirty looks for it.

The better question is who doesn’t do this? I always talk to my son in Walmart and I’ve never gotten a dirty look or maybe I just haven’t noticed. They’re human beings it doesn’t seem right not to talk to them 🤷🏻‍♀️

I talk to our daughter while walking through the store, I never really notice if we get looks. I'm just in our own little world enjoying the time out together. Only time I think its awkward for me is when I have to go potty, and since I baby wear, she's there on me as I go....but I'm still talking to her 😅

Omg. I talk to my kid (7 months) the whole time we are in the store and at home. I think it is good for them to have that connection.

I’ve always talked to my child in public like that since he was a newborn and he’s 2 now & so ahead in his speech development so keep on doing it! Lol 😊 I’ve gotten weird looks too but I don’t pay attention to it much

I straight up have conversations with my 7 month old and have since he was born lol. In private, in public. He has no clue what I’m saying, but he’s my kid and I’m not gonna just not talk to him lol.
