Circumcision??

Hey ladies ! I'm due with baby #2 in early November.  My first child is a girl so I never had to think about circumcision. What's your opinions? Thanks !

This is our first son and we’re getting him circumcised. Working in the medical field as an aide it was hard to keep the older generation clean with the extra skin and that makes them a higher risk for infections.

My husband is circumcised so I left the decision to him and he wants to do it for our son.

Absolutely will be having it done. Decreases the chances of contracting penile cancer later in life. They numb the penis and the babies cry most when the cold cleanser is applied. As a nurse I have seen many circumcisions and didnt find them traumatizing at all for the infants, but for the parents. To each their own but to me there is enough evidence for me to say yes.

I circumcised my son. It healed about as fast as the umbilical stump did and caused no issues. He was literally out of the room for 15 minutes and came back sound asleep.

I’m still not sure I’m a FTM and having a little boy too! My husband isn’t circumcised but he says it’s up to me. He is Spanish they don’t do it out there. I’m a nurse and I’ve seen the pros and cons and still can’t make up my mind.

I didn’t have my oldest son circumcised and he had to end up getting it done at 4 because his foreskin became tight around his penis causing bleeding. That was the most horrific event not only for me, but for my son. I would have much rather done it as an infant had I known he’d be in such excruciating pain having to have it down to where he remembers it. He’s now 11 and still traumatized by that. I’m now pregnant with my 2nd boy and definitely will be getting him circumcised at birth.

Absolutely would never circumcise my children. My husband had it done as a baby and feels very violated. He has less feeling than intact men and he has a huge dark scar. It makes me sad every time I see it. I imagine him as a tiny baby screaming in pain as they took away a piece of him that he was born with. It’s disgusting honestly. If it’s done to a female we call it mutilation, so why do we treat it any different when it’s done to a male?

After being told they cant ever be completely numb and will feel a good majority of it I became against it. It could also leave them with a lot of penile dysfunction and nerve damage. If it is medically necessary one day then do it but the risks really seem to out weigh the benefits. I wouldn't want my parts to be cut and restitched for cosmetics and to feel that amount of pain would be absolutely crazy if not really necessary. Good luck no matter your choice.

I would circumcise my daughter so it is a no for a son as well. Other than religion ( which I also dont get) genital mutilation is not something I want for my kids.
